Skunkworks’ relationship with Edge started with a website audit to determine options for refreshing their website. Along the way, we recommended a brand update and design overhaul of the existing site, as well as a content review and refresh. Our goal was to update their visual identity, ensure they were leveraging technical infrastructure designed for security and performance, upgrade the website to resolve issues with elements that had ceased functioning correctly, and create clear visual steps for their two client streams: law firms or in-house legal departments seeking to attract new talent, and lawyers looking for new career opportunities.

Our involvement includes:

• Existing Website Audit: We reviewed the current site infrastructure, including the existing technical stack, and provided options and recommendations. In this case, staying on the existing website theme was not an option as the theme was no longer being supported by its developers. This is not uncommon in the website industry. The first step was to move the existing site onto hosting and implement tools to set them up for success. From there, we prepped a staging site to allow for future work and testing without interfering with ongoing online activity. Next, we also reviewed the firm’s site map and helped develop a new approach to better support the journeys of their two distinct client groups.
• Brand Identity Refresh: We updated the font and wordmark to reflect a modern look and feel that conveys forward momentum. This included helping them develop updated email signatures, updating their LinkedIn profile and Google Business Profiles and assisting with resolving an issue that had occurred due to an office move.
• Website Design and Development: We designed and built a new, user-friendly, responsive website that clearly maps out their value proposition for firms looking to hire and lawyers looking to change roles. We updated their Home page video to include custom footage that introduces the firm’s experts. We also worked on updating the firm’s content to better reflect their value propositions for the client groups they serve, redesigned and updated a testimonial section that is easy to read, upgraded their contact form to include desired additional functionality, and addressed technical issues they were experiencing with an embed they wanted to continue to use on the website.
• Ongoing Web Maintenance, Content Development, SEO, and Strategy: We continue to support Edge Legal Recruitment through web maintenance and exploring SEO strategies to enhance their online visibility to clients seeking superior legal recruitment services.
