Marni MacLeodM.A., LL.B
Vice President & Managing Director, Ontario
Profile
Marni joined the Skunkworks team in 2005. A UVic Law alumna (‘93), she was called to the BC Bar in 1994 and continues to be a non-practising member of the Law Society of British Columbia.
During life before Skunkworks, she articled at a large downtown Vancouver law firm, practiced at a Vancouver labour law boutique, worked as a legal editor for the Continuing Legal Education Society of British Columbia (CLEBC), and established her own legal research and writing consultancy. She speaks “lawyer” fluently and understands the challenges that legal professionals face in creating and implementing effective business development and marketing campaigns.
A proponent of client-centric marketing and building strong referral networks, Marni helps clients transform generic lists of skills and practice experience into content that highlights their unique expertise in ways that will resonate with clients and referral sources alike. She is a connector by nature and adept at identifying tools and resources that clients can use to fulfill their marketing objectives. Marni frequently collaborates with in-house marketing professionals to identify opportunities and develop the supporting creative materials needed to successfully implement a project. She has extensive experience working with clients on branding, website and content development, print and social media campaigns, video and radio ads, and custom projects.
Outside of work, Marni enjoys developing recipes for her food blog (ourfamilyrecipes.ca), playing with yarn (@made.bymarni on Instagram), and digging in the dirt (aka organic gardening on the family farm).
