Another busy month has come and gone – here is a brief recap of some notable activities that our clients were involved with during October:
Vancouver-based securities lawyer Penny Green recently was named one of Canada’s Top Female Entrepreneurs in the 14th annual Top W100 ranking, produced by Profit Magazine and Chateline. It was a busy month for Penny, who was also named as a finalist for the 2012 RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Awards.
Feldstein Family Law Group welcomed a new lawyer to their roster this month. Anna Troichanski joins the firm following time spent at a boutique Newmarket family law firm and Pinkofsky’s Criminal Trial and Appeal Lawyers, where she honed her skills as a litigator.
Congratulations to The University of Victoria, which recently ranked among the top one percent of universities worldwide in the Times Higher Education’s annual World University Rankings.
Vancouver-based multi-practice firm Watson Goepel added a new associate, Sophie Liang, to their firm’s Corporate Commercial Group. Sophie has a diverse background that includes time spent practicing law in China and five years working as an associate judge at the Court of Appeal in Guangxi. She is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese.
Canada West Veterinary Specialists held their annual symposium on October 28th. The complimentary event is designed to share Canada West’s expertise with the broader veterinary community in British Columbia, and provides continuing education credit for veterinarians. Over 200 vets and veterinary technicians attended the event. Interested vets can view the papers highlighted at the symposium online.
The Vancouver family law law firm Henderson Heinrichs recently launched their Twitter Account and are tweeting up a storm. Their tweets cover various issues from the BC Family Law Act to interesting cases and developments in family law.
The Fraser Valley full service firm Campbell Burton McMullan LLP has added a new Associate, Murray Ross, to their firm. Murray has experience practicing in personal injury law, insurance defense, general civil litigation, and criminal defense. His practice at Campbell Burton McMullen primarily focuses on Plaintiff personal injury matters.
Vancouver-based personal injury firm Murphy Battista LLP held an Open House to officially open the Personal Injury Resource Centre. The Resource Centre is sponsored by the firm and is designed to help personal injury victims get their life back on track following an accident.
