Spring seems to have passed by as a blur and after looking at what some of our clients have been up to over the last month, I’m sure that they feel the same way. The following is a brief recap of some of the notable activities that our clients accomplished during the month of June.
The Newmarket, Ontario-based Veterinary Hospital 404 Vets recently launched their new website. The website nicely combines friendly messaging with an attractive modern design. 404 Vets, like BTM, also invested in a mobile-optimized version of their site.
The Vancouver Island based multi-practice law firm RLR Lawyers launched their new website, which combines straightforward navigation with a crisp design highlighting the firm’s commitment and service to the residents of Vancouver Island.
Calgary-based lawyer Sandra Sebree launched a new website that highlights Sandra’s sincere personality while emphasizing her skills and expertise. Sandra also rebranded her firm through a corporate identity refresh that utilizes a warm colour palette and plain language messaging that reflects her client-focused style.
Late in May, Skunkworks was able to help the Vancouver-based boutique criminal law firm Martland & Saulnier with the development of their new brand and website. Given their proximity to the Vancouver Law Courts we took the distinctive angles from Arthur Erickson’s architectural style and applied them to a new icon for the firm. We also used the courthouses as the key imagery on the firm’s refreshed website.
More recently, Surrey-based law firm McQuarrie Hunter LLP announced that they will be offering a free Personal Injury Claims Seminar on July 18. The firm’s senior personal injury lawyer, Perry J. Armitage, will be joined by associates from the firm’s personal injury law group to present information about the ICBC claims process, settlement, and the entitlement of accident victims to no-fault benefits.
Vancouver-based personal injury firm Murphy Battista LLP is sponsoring the upcoming ZLC Foundation Charity Golf Tournament, which will be happening on Monday July 8th. Over its 28 year history, the tournament has raised over $917,000 for various beneficiaries including Kids Up Front, The Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada, and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
Murphy Battista LLP Partner Scott Stanley also spent some time last month sitting on an Ethics Panel at the Vocational Rehabilitation Association National Conference & AGM. Entitled “Resolution of Ethical Issues”, Scott’s panel discussed ethics in the decision making process.
As a principal sponsor, Murphy Battista LLP also lent their resources to the Okanagan Conference on Brain Injury. The conference took place on June 13th and 14th and is a leading educational venue for professionals, family caregivers, and people living with acquired brain injury.
Murphy Battista LLP also took part in the fourth episode of the new Am 650 radio show, “You and the Law”. The program airs once a month, on select Sundays at 11:00 am, and is hosted by veteran radio personality Stirling Faux. Each episode features experienced personal injury lawyers from the Murphy Battista team discussing issues that commonly arise in insurance disputes.
Celso Boscariol, Partner at Watson Goepel LLP, presided over a CETA Conference on June 7, 2013. The Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement is a proposed free trade and copyright agreement between Canada and the European Union.
Joe Fiorante, Q.C., a partner at well-known Vancouver class action firm, Camp Fiorante Matthews Mogerman, continues to consistently give his time and talents to supporting the Project Somos Children’s Village in Guatemala. We are very excited to see that it’s been announced that Project Somos is getting some well deserved publicity via a new OLN reality TV show set to air next fall.
That about does it for June of 2013. We look forward to seeing what else our clients get up to as the weather starts getting warmer.
